Tsalla Aerospace

Our rhythm: design, build, fly, crash, modify, repeat!

About

We deliver hardware-agnostic autonomy and resilient battlefield connectivity that eliminate cognitive load on soldiers and ensure mission success in GPS- or comms-denied environments. Our systems think, sense, and act independently, giving our forces dominance where others fail. In short, we enhance situational awareness, reduce human risk, and redefine the future of autonomous operations on land, at sea, and in the air.

TRACTION & ACHIEVEMENTS

Funding / Grants

Tsalla Aerospace has secured around USD 1 million as part of the pre-seed round in the form of equity and non-dilutive grants. This includes angel investment from Sunny Stalnaker, executive vice president at ASML, along with SIDBI and support from IDEX and other leading defense innovation and strategic grant programs.

Patents & IP

Tsalla Aerospace has built a deep, multi-layered IP moat across autonomous navigation, AI-driven mission execution, GPS- and communication-denied operations, and tightly integrated airframe-software-sensor architectures. The company strategically prioritized operational capability and speed over early patent disclosure, maturing its critical innovations in stealth. Its core differentiation is embedded in proprietary algorithms, system architectures, training data, and mission logic that are inherently resistant to reverse engineering. Tsalla is now selectively formalizing this advantage through targeted patent filings while retaining significant portions of its IP as trade secrets for long-term defensibility.

Awards & Achievements

Tsalla Aerospace has repeatedly achieved national and global firsts in autonomous aerial systems through real-world performance. The company was the first in India to lift 50 kg and 90 kg using a multirotor platform, and the first globally to transport a 25 kg payload at 5,500 meters above sea level over 10 km. Tsalla has accumulated over 5,000 hours of urban flight operations, including a continuous deployment exceeding 558 hours, demonstrating system reliability. The company achieved the world’s first GPS-denied autonomous flight operations aboard an aircraft carrier. Tsalla received the Department of Science & Technology’s Innovation Award (2021) for developing India’s first tail-sitter mapping UAS, executed zero-contact medical deliveries during COVID-19, and enabled high-altitude cargo logistics for the Indian Army in Leh. The company was also a finalist in the Indian Air Force’s Mehar Baba Challenge, collectively establishing Tsalla as a proven operator of autonomy in high-stakes environments.

Team

Tsalla Aerospace is led by a mission-driven, execution-obsessed team purpose-built to deliver autonomous systems at defense scale. The founding leadership has over 50 years of direct, hands-on experience designing, building, flight-testing, and fielding advanced aerial robotic and autonomy platforms, with operational systems already deployed and validated by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The core team combines expertise in aeronautics, flight physics, autonomy, AI-driven navigation and control, embedded systems, and aerospace manufacturing. Tsalla’s advisory bench includes senior defense and aerospace leaders who have shaped large-scale military programs and operational doctrine. The company is further reinforced by globally elite promoters and mentors with backgrounds spanning Princeton University and deep-tech industry leaders such as ASML, ensuring world-class systems engineering discipline, technical rigor, and a long-term platform mindset. Together, this team positions Tsalla Aerospace to build category-defining autonomous warfare capabilities with global relevance.
