We extracted valuable chitin nanofibers (CNFs) and proteins from shrimp-waste, which is abundant in India. CNFs were used to develop biodegradable bioplastics with good mechanical strength and biodegradability for packaging applications. Also, developed protein-feed supplements for the poultry industry. Shaya Polymers is committed to commercializing the products.
Shaya Polymers is committed to investing 2 to 5 crores over the next 2 to 3 years to scale up and commercialise the products.
