M-Lense Research Private Limited is an Indian deep-tech startup developing patented, paper-based diagnostic solutions for food safety. Its flagship product, Paperpro®, enables rapid, on-site detection of milk adulteration without labs or equipment, strengthening responsible consumption, transparent supply chains, and public health outcomes across India.
M-Lense Research secured institutional funding and government grant support totaling INR 78 lakhs. This total includes equity/institutional funding from IIT Mandi (INR 25 lakhs) and IIT Ropar (INR 24 lakhs), as well as grant support from the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India (INR 23 lakhs) and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India (INR 6 lakhs). The participation of premier IITs reflects strong institutional confidence in the company’s deep-tech innovation.
M-Lense Research holds a strong intellectual property portfolio in the domain of paper-based chemical and biosensing diagnostics for food safety. The company has four patents filed, covering core innovations in rapid adulteration detection and low-cost diagnostic technologies. One patent has been granted, and three are currently under examination.
Recipient of the Uttarakhand Startup Award 2022, appreciated by Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi, thrice by the CM of Uttarakhand, acknowledged by the former Union Agriculture Minister and G20 counterparts, featured in Forbes, and represented India at G20 and Slush Finland (twice).
