Jal Jeevan Agro Tech Pvt Ltd is building advanced rubber gasket technology for zero wastewater leakage, low-maintenance irrigation solutions.
India faces severe water stress due to its growing population and leaking water distribution systems. Naresh Sahebrao Awchar, CEO of Jaljeevan Agro Pvt. Ltd., who comes from a farming background, understood the severe impact of leaks on water, crops, farmers, and land. Growing up in Maharashtra, Naresh observed frequent pipe leaks at flanges and tailpipes, mainly caused by brittle rubber gaskets due to high temperatures and above-normal pressure. This resulted in water wastage, threatened crop survival, and could destroy standing crops in neighboring farms. Recognizing the need for change, Naresh and his sibling developed patented, heat-resistant rubber gaskets and tailpipes, capable of resisting temperatures up to 52 degrees Celsius, to prevent leaks and conserve water. These products are available in common farm sizes (2.5, 3, and 4 inches). Following their success locally, they plan to expand across Maharashtra and India, and potentially beyond. Their immediate goal is to appoint agents in all 36 districts of Maharashtra to help farmers conserve water and improve crop cycles.
