Energy-saving smart windows with programmable control of light and heat
Chromiq develops advanced spray-coated electrochromic smart windows that dynamically control visible light and infrared heat. By combining dual-band optical modulation with programmable memory, Chromiq windows require energy only during switching and retain the state for the desired duration without any power. This enables a significant reduction in cooling load and improved indoor comfort for buildings and vehicles, particularly in tropical climates.
Chromiq is a research-driven venture supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, under the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) Program. The project funding has enabled development and validation of electrochromic smart window prototypes and scalable fabrication processes.
IP under preparation
Chromiq is a research-led deep-tech venture, combining expertise from IIT Delhi, JNCASR, HHV, and CENS Bangalore. The core team combines strengths in functional nanomaterials, electrochromic device engineering, and scalable nanomanufacturing. Led from IIT Delhi, the venture benefits from strong scientific mentorship and collaborative support from partners in Bangalore, ensuring both fundamental depth and translational relevance for smart window technologies.
