Automation-led 3D concrete printing enabling fast, efficient, and resilient infrastructure.
Micob uses proprietary 3D concrete printing to build rapid, resilient, and low-carbon infrastructure. Their technology reduces material waste, speeds up construction, and improves climate resilience. Micob has delivered over 600 structures, including India's only 3D-printed blast-resistant bunkers, enabling infrastructure, civil, and defence agencies to deploy high-quality, digitally enabled infrastructure at scale.
Equity, Rs 9.1 crore from 3Lines VC and Empede Capital. Grants: Rs 0.4 crore. Winner of iDEX 2022, National Startup Award 2022, and Asha India.
Micob's competitive edge is built on proprietary technologies developed in-house for 3D concrete printing (3DCP), covering design workflows, process controls, custom hardware, and integration methods for structural reliability and scalability. Micob currently protects its core systems as trade secrets to allow for quick refinement and iteration, maintaining strict internal controls, documentation, and restricted access protocols. Their forward-looking IP strategy is two-fold: continue to protect core innovations through confidentiality while pursuing selective, strategic patent filings in high-priority markets where patents offer a clear commercial advantage or strengthen partnerships. This approach balances speed, protection, and market leverage, ensuring Micob retains its first-mover position in sustainable construction technologies.
The company has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the National Startup India Awards 2022, Idex 2022 (Innovations For Defence Excellence), and the CII Stratupreneur Awards for Product Excellence. It was recognized for its construction technology at the Global Housing Technology Challenge (GHTC) 2019 and selected among the top startups by organizations like TYE Global Startups and DST Amrit Mahotsav. The company developed India’s only anti-tank bunkers and 3D-printed Mars Regolith-based radiation shields. It is a DPIIT-recognized startup and has secured grants from various sources, including Startup Gujarat and Nidhi Prayas – DST. Cofounders have been invited as expert speakers at major forums, and the company was invited to interact with the Honorable President of India in 2024.
Micob is driven by a 31-member multidisciplinary team that combines deep technical expertise with execution strength. The founding team brings strong academic and industry credentials: Dr. Shashank Shekhar (CEO, PhD in 3DCP, IIT Gandhinagar) leads execution and technology strategy; Rishabh Mathur (CTO, M.Tech, IITGN) oversees engineering and production; and Dr. Ankita Sinha (CMO, PhD in mechanical engineering) drives marketing, strategy, and partnerships. The wider team spans project management, operations, logistics, quality control, maintenance, and software development, ensuring end-to-end capability from R&D to field delivery. This structure has enabled the successful execution of defense and civil infrastructure projects, validating both technology and scale-readiness. What sets Micob apart is the blend of research-driven innovation and practical execution discipline. With academic and government collaborations, strong supply chain alignment, and a proven track record, the team is well-positioned to scale 3DCP into smart city, housing, and climate-resilient infrastructure solutions.
