Powering India and beyond with clean, patented electricity harnessed from ocean waves
Indian Ocean Power (IOP) develops patented point absorber wave energy systems that solve the intermittency and land use limitations of solar and wind by harnessing high-density ocean waves. With granted design and process patents, ONGC Energy Center Trust support, and IIT Roorkee expertise, IOP aims to deploy scalable coastal power infrastructure for India and beyond.
We received funding from ONGC Energy Center Trust (OECT) India.
IOP holds two granted Indian patents covering the design and process technologies for point absorber wave energy conversion, providing strong defensibility and a technological moat in ocean-based renewable power systems.
We are yet to achieve awards and recognition.
Indian Ocean Power (IOP) is led by a team from IIT Roorkee, combining deep expertise in computational fluid dynamics, ocean energy conversion, multiphase flows, and power electronics to commercialize scalable ocean-based renewable power solutions.
