Rail Labs Pvt. Ltd. is an IIT Madras–incubated deep-tech startup dedicated to transforming railway safety and maintenance through advanced sensing, AI, and data-driven intelligence. Closely associated with the Centre for Railway Research (CRR) at IIT Madras, their solutions combine academic research with real-world applications to prevent failures, enhance reliability, reduce downtime, and ensure safer journeys. Their flagship innovations include Arista (Autonomous Track Inspection System) and Chakrvue (Wheel Shelling Prediction System). Founded by Professor Krishnan Balasubramanian, Rajesh Rathi, and Sumit Anand, Rail Labs delivers scalable, next-generation railway safety technologies.
Grant: 20 Lakhs from IITM-IC
The founding team includes a professor at IIT Madras, an IIT Madras alumnus, and a research associate at IIT Madras. The team size is about 10 members, with most members affiliated with IIT Madras.
